Department of Mathematics

Overview
The Department of Mathematics is functioning as an allied department since 1991. The main objective of the department is to prepare the students with power of reasoning and Mathematical conceptual knowledge in solving industrial related problems and to upgrade the Mathematics Education with Global perspectives. The Department is recognized for its outstanding teaching and learning activities towards quality education. It has qualified faculty members actively engaged in teaching and research activity. The department is organizing Seminars, Symposia, Workshops, Orientation program and Hands on Training to help the students to update their knowledge and skills.
Every year the Department is celebrating the great statistician Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis’s Birthday as National Statistics Day and the legend Srinivasa Ramanujan’s birthday as National Mathematics Day. Department of mathematics is also conducting competitions for our students of various departments to enrich their mathematical skills for attending competitive exams.

Programme Educational Objectives
- PEO1 : Enable graduates to be successful in their chosen careers by acquiring practical and theoretical Knowledge of Modern / Upgraded Technology to gain a livelihood and to focus on developing the Region, State and Nation
- PEO2 : To inculcate high standard professionalism among the graduates by providing necessary skills with ethical standards and to encourage graduates for higher studies, research activities and entrepreneurial skills by imparting ICT enabled quality teaching
