Overview

Sankara college has a glorious history since 1991 and the department of English widened its boundary with its Under graduation from 2011.With an incomparable knowledge quotient as its bedrock, the department functions with 10 faculty members who with their distinguished profile bestow incessant laurels on the institution. The department also offers Part – II English to students, focusing on all the four skills of language learning. The Language Lab of the department strengthens the students to be technically sound in developing their understanding in the learning of English Language.

The department has English Literary Association and Drama club to conduct various events. The department supports students for Training and Placements by providing them basic communication skills to face the interview in the competitive world. Apart from this resume writing, group discussions and other language trainings providing to students to support their all-round development.

Vision

Students’ liberal education is strengthened by the English Department’s development of a deeper grasp of language and literacy, the importance of critical reading and effective writing, and the diversity of literature, both past and contemporary.

Mission

To educate students how to properly speak, read, and write, as well as to encourage them to think critically and reflect on what they’ve learned. Additionally, the department promotes a love of study and a respect for a liberal education.

ENGLISH LITERARY CLUB Newsletter

English Literary Club has been founded to promote language and literature the basic aspect of our existence. To develop the literary thirst among the students , the club organizes a rich and diverse array of literary activities in the form of debates, declamations, group discussions, poetry writing and recitation, short story writing, quiz contests, interactive/lecture sessions, etc. These activities serve as a platform to elevate and promote the creativity of the students. It hone their skills and promotes the command of an appropriate language in an emotional and intellectual manner in varied situations.
